Alabama drivers know that hazards abound on the roads every day. From vehicle malfunction to poor road conditions to the actions of a drunk driver or a reckless driver and beyond, there is no end to the number of challenges to be faced when behind the wheel. Fortunately, many a motor vehicle accident is minor but that is not always the case and many people find themselves injured in a car accident with no warning.
Five days before Christmas on Bullock County 89, a sport utility vehicle overturned and was not one of the lucky accidents. Two young children, ages five and six, were seriously injured in the car crash and taken to Children’s of Alabama in Birmingham for treatment. The adult driver and two other passengers in the vehicle were all killed in the auto accident.
Many details of the investigation were not reported in the news article but it was stated that seat belts were not worn. It was not clearly identified if the lack of use of seat belts was by all in the vehicle or only by some persons. There was no mention of the involvement of any other vehicle or a cause for the accident.
When personal injury or death occurs as part of a car accident, there can be many challenges involved to ensure proper compensation is achieved for any survivors or their representatives. If you or anyone that you know is involved in such a situation, it can be very helpful to talk to an attorney before making any decisions or agreements.
