Holiday accident with wrong-way driver kills two

Drivers in Alabama, as with those in other states, are aware of the concerns surrounding motor vehicle accidents during the holiday time. A car accident is never something that anyone wants to be involved in as it can lead to catastrophic injuries or even death and having such losses during special times can be even more difficult for friends and family members. This is one such reason why holiday checkpoints are so popular with law enforcement.

A recent news article describes an auto accident that took place around ten o'clock in the evening on the night before Thanksgiving that claimed the lives of two people. The driver of a Pontiac G6 car was seen driving in the southbound lane of Mississippi 67 headed in a northbound direction. His vehicle struck head on a Chevrolet Avalanche pickup truck being operated by a 35-year old male driver. Upon impact, the truck rolled down a nearby embankment and was set ablaze. He was taken to the University of South Alabama Medical Center where he later died.

The Pontiac G6 was thrust into the road's median due to the impact of the car crash and the driver was declared dead at the scene of the wreck. The news article indicated that his breath was noted to smell of alcohol. Local authorities are investigating the accident further.

The need for a car accident victim or his or her representative to have assistance after such an incident can be important to help receive needed compensation. Talking to an attorney may be one way of getting that help.
