National campaign aims to reduce Labor Day drunk driving accidents

During the last few weeks of summer, more people take to the road trying to get in one last vacation. Even if you drive carefully and obey all of the laws, others may not be as responsible. It can be easy to drive a little too fast in anticipation to beat holiday traffic or start the vacation early by having a drink or two with lunch. Alabama law enforcement officials recognize the increase in driving danger and are once again participating in a program to prevent drunk driving accidents.

Big-box retailer cited by OSHA, agrees to make safety changes

Every day, countless Alabamans put their life on the line when they go to work—police, firefighters, construction workers and many others. Even those who work in retail environments could be subjected to dangerous working conditions and suffer a work-related injury. The federal organization referred to as OSHA is charged with setting safety standards in all of the different industries to make sure that companies are in compliance. No company, large or small, is exempt from their inspections.

Reckless driving causes fatal truck accident at Alabama landfill

Accidents involving large commercial vehicles are often the most horrific and catastrophic. The drivers and passengers of other vehicles have very little protection against the force and velocity that a semi-truck carries. If a pedestrian or bystander is involved, it is almost certain that the semi-truck accident will be fatal.

Alabama nursing home to pay $375,000 for wrongful death

The decision to place a loved one in a nursing home is never easy -- it doesn't matter if it's for short-term rehabilitation or long-term care. The process can be made even more stressful when you are bombarded with a pile of paperwork that must be signed before the facility will admit the patient. It is becoming more common for nursing homes to include documents that prohibit you from filing a lawsuit in the event that your loved one is a victim of nursing home neglect or abuse. Instead, you must settle the matter through arbitration.
